Palmetto Pines Classic Sporting Clays Event

The purpose of the Palmetto Pines Classic is to raise funds for The King’s Academy. The Palmetto Pines Classic is held in October and is a NCSA Registered shooting event (#518954). The event includes a 100 shot Sporting Clays course, a Five Stand Setup and a Long Bird competition. (Note: Lewis Class scoring will be used for non-registered shooters.) For Safety Reasons, the sporting clays events are for adult shooters and young shooters who are at least 13 years old when accompanied by a parent for the entirety of the shoot.

The 2007 Palmetto Pines Classic raised $11,208.51 to benefit The King's Academy!

National Championship Team in Sporting Clays
In their first season of competition, The King's Academy sporting clays team walked away with a national title in July 2007. Students had to shoot at 100 targets each day with the Lions nailing 504 of a possible 600 targets. The three-member team consisting of Austin Mogy, Richmond Wilhoit, and Nicholas Long posted a score of 504 in the event held in San Antonio, Texas in July 2007. The Lion's team of Braxton Ivy, Harrison Boatwright, and Robert Baumgardner had a score of 454. The team of Clint Mims, Andrew Stewart, and Taylor Rails had a score of 424. Adam Cameron competed as an individual and shot a 139. Way to go, Lions!
